Entrepreneurship cannot be learned from a textbook. You have to feel it and think critically about the various parts of planning for the new venture. Online Textbook Products
Venture Highway is the best choice for teaching undergraduate students about entrepreneurship, because our approach is a seamless combination of the academic concepts with the operational experience. It is a combination of reading, and doing. And, it's all online, so student's can access the material and assignments from anywhere on any device that connects to the Internet, and so can you.
We offer two complete courses: "Foundation of Entrepreneurship" or the more advanced "Venture Accelerator." Both of these classes are currently taught at The Ohio State University.
Authors - Academics & Successful Entrepreneurs
Our Foundations of Entrepreneurship text modules are authored by Dr. Sharon Alvarez, Academic Director of The Ohio State University Center for Entrepreneurship and Kevin Gadd, a successful serial entrepreneur and small business commercialization mentor.
Our Venture Accelerator text modules are authored by Dr. S. Michael Camp, Executive Director of The Ohio State University Center for Entrepreneurship, and Kevin Gadd, a successful serial entrepreneur and small business commercialization mentor.
VH Online, Interactive Tools
Venture Highway's technology tools are designed to guide students through the critical thinking needed to make successful entrepreneurial decisions. These critical thinking skills & self-knowledge will be valuable no matter the student's ultimate career path. Here are the tools currently available:
- Business Model Canvas - allows students to create, edit, print, and communicate their Business Model Canvas (based on the material in the book "Business Model Generation")
- Venture Innovation Tool – guides students through idea generation
- Venture Summary Tool - guides students through creation of a solid business summary
- Business Plan Builder - guides students through creation of a solid business plan
In addition, students will have access to a variety of online planning sheets to record important concepts throughout their coursework.
Case Studies & Other Resources
We provide you with several case studies written specifically for the course content. These case studies are woven throughout the modules to help students understand concepts from a real world perspective.
Instructors can also upload their own material to the system. This material will be available to students alongside Venture Highway provided content, tools and resources. There is no need to have students go multiple places to get all of the information you want them to read.
Every learning module also contains other resources that link to more material on the topic covered in the module. These resources, such as current articles, websites, and other related documents are updated consistently by the Venture Highway team of Business Librarians. You can always count on us to provide students the most current information on these important entrepreneurship subjects.
